Breakaway Platforms
Welcome to "Breakaway Platforms"! This is a little game that I made for a Game Dev class that I'm currently taking, except this time, it's for a game jam, again! This time around, you're hopping around on platforms, trying to reach the end. But watch out! The platforms fall a few seconds after you've landed on them.
The controls are a little more complex than last time, but we still feature controller support! You use either WASD or left stick to move around. Using a mouse or right stick you can look around. You can jump with either spacebar or the A button on a controller (though this changes based on controller). You can open the menu using either escape or the menu button on a controller. Finally, you can exit the game at any time using either the 'P' key or the Y button on a controller (this one also changes based on controller).
This game is a simple platformer where you jump from platform to platform, trying not to fall. Be careful, however, as the platforms you're standing on fall a few seconds after you touch them. Can you beat all seven levels?
This game is my second game to support controllers, and it's my first game to feature a menu system. Using the menu system, you can go into the options and adjust the mouse sensitivity (keep in mind that this also affects looking around with a controller, too). Please also note that menu navigation does not work that well with a controller. You can use the main menu fine, but the controller stops interacting with the UI when you go into the options menu. This is also my first game that uses separate scenes to handle multiple levels.
